DCYF Social Services Specialist In-Training (SSS1-3) Skagit County & Island County

We're looking for a Social Services Specialists to join our team to help support and protect children, youth, and families in Skagit and Island Counties. The Opportunity
We are searching for individuals to assist in multiple locations throughout Skagit and Island Counties. We are looking for high-energy, proactive professionals to join our Social Services Specialist team. We are willing to invest resources into training and preparing you to be a case-carrying Social Service Specialist.

What we are looking for:
Professionals who have a passion for helping youth, and one of the following combinations of education and experience:

Social Service Specialist 1 Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Social Services, Human Services, Behavioral Sciences, or an allied field.
 

Social Service Specialist 2 One (1) year of experience as a Social Service Specialist, Bachelor's Degree in Social Services, Human Services, Behavioral Sciences or an allied field and two (2) years of paid social service experience performing functions equivalent to a Social Service Specialist
OR
Master's Degree in Social Services, Human Services, Behavioral Sciences, or an allied field and one (1) year of paid social service experience performing functions equivalent to a Social Service Specialist 1.
OR
A completed practicum 
 

Social Service Specialist 3
One (1) year of experience as a Social Service Specialist 2
OR
Bachelor's Degree in Social Services, Human Services, Behavioral Sciences, or an allied field and two (2) years of paid social service experience performing functions equivalent to a Social Service Specialist 2 and one year of paid social service experience must include assessing risk and safety to children and providing direct family-centered practice services.
OR
Master's Degree in Social Services, Human Services, Behavioral Sciences, or an allied field and one (1) year of paid social service experience performing functions equivalent to a Social Service Specialist 2.
OR
A completed practicum 
AND
One year of paid social service experience must include assessing risk and safety to children and providing direct family-centered practice services.

Qualifying Degrees: Anthropology, Child Development, Counseling, Criminal Justice, Education, Family Studies, Gerontology, Human Development, Human Service, Law and Justice, Psychology, Pastoral Counseling, Social Work, Sociology, Therapeutic Fields, Therapeutic Recreation
