APPEL Knowledge Services Development and Lessons Learned

Through its world-class training curriculum, knowledge-sharing initiatives, development resources, and strategic communications, APPEL Knowledge Services helps ensure NASA’s technical workforce has the skills and knowledge needed to advance mission success. Our team provides training to thousands of members of the technical workforce each year; supports the thriving Chief Knowledge Officer Community and curates the NASA Knowledge Inventory; maintains NASA’s Project Management and Systems Engineering Competency Model and Professional Development Framework; offers leadership development, technical-hands-on experience, and leadership and technical training via the Systems and Engineering Leadership Development Program; and provides strategic communications and regular publications to support continuous learning across the NASA technical workforce, including website, social media, podcast, and reference resources.

Join NASA’s Academy of Program/Project and Engineering Leadership (APPEL) Knowledge Services team and support NASA's technical workforce with your research and insights. This project will analyze, make recommendations, and help advance the application of competency models, development frameworks, and lessons learned for NASA's technical workforce. This project will also review current data and consider human factors approaches to provide professional development support for program and project managers and systems engineers. As a result of this work, agency-wide training and knowledge sharing activities will take advantage of state of the art approaches to accessibility and employee engagement.
