This position will be one member of a four-member outreach team operating out of The Perch – a drop-in center for youth experiencing homelessness or unstable housing. Within this team, there are two CSE Outreach Specialists who focus on working with youth and young adults who are or have been victims/survivors of Commercial Sexual Exploitation (CSE), or who are at risk of being exploited in such a way. The main responsibilities of this position are to conduct mobile and stationary outreach services to youth and young adults, ages 12 – 24, who are or may be victims of sex trafficking. Primary outreach locations that victims and high-risk populations have been known to frequent include truck stops, rest areas, parks, hotels, adult video/toy stores, malls, homeless camps, and drop-in centers. Outreach targeted to youth at-risk of trafficking is conducted in schools, youth programs, and other places youth and young adults congregate. This position will also be expected to build community education and awareness by conducting public presentations about Commercial Sexual Exploitation and available services for youth and young adults involved in human trafficking activities. Both stationary outreach and education/awareness activities require CSE Outreach Specialists to plan group activities and develop in-house curriculum. CSE Outreach Specialists are required to use good judgment and hold professional boundaries when conducting outreach services throughout the community. CSE Outreach Specialists are expected to maintain regular communication with the broader outreach and CSE service teams. They collaborate and work closely with the CSE Case Manager, making referrals to case management services and providing wrap around support to youth and young adults who are victims/survivors of Commercial Sexual Exploitation or at high risk of being targeted.
