Therapist for TAY Services

$2,000 sign-on bonus for new Seneca employees in this position!
As a Therapist for the TAY program, you will provide family-based mental health counseling, therapy, crisis intervention, family finding, and case management services to transitional age youth and families. Therapists are members of a treatment team and provide services at the program site and in the community, including, but not limited to hospitals, schools, and family homes.
ABOUT THE PROGRAM
The TAY Program services build on the values and strengths of each young adult and family, and are tailored to meet their unique and changing needs. As our approach to services is youth driven, each client identifies the focus of their treatment, as well as the people they want on their treatment team, which may include supportive family, friends, or community members. Participation is voluntary, and youth are able to decide when they are ready for mental health services to end.

Responsibilities
- Serve as the clinical lead and work with the treatment team to provide intake assessment, treatment planning, crisis intervention and other mental health services as needed at the program site, in client homes, and in the community.
- Provide counseling, family therapy, and case management services to help maintain the client in the community and/or current placement.
- Provide assistance in case planning and consultation to team members on clinical issues, as well as casework issues, as appropriate.
- Provide counseling and case management services to ensure the successful transition of clients and their families to community-based resources, including but not limited to linkage to employment services, housing programs, and substance abuse programs.
- Chart mental health notes, treatment plans, outcome measures, incident reports, and other documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
- Participate in crisis response system. Participate in individual and/or group supervision.
- Maintain professional behavior at all times, appropriately representing the Seneca mission and philosophy.
- Attend all required trainings.
- Provide crisis management as needed. This may include physical management of the clients through implementation of Seneca’s Equilibrium Model Training.
- Perform all other duties as necessary for the good of the agency as directed by supervisor.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Social Work/Psychology/Counseling.
- Must be eligible. to register with the BBS.
- Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Experience and knowledge working with the TAY population preferred.
- Ability to work with a diverse population.
- Good organizational and writing skills.
- Flexible schedule with ability to work evenings and weekends.
- Willing to respond to crisis situations and be part of a rotating emergency pager system.
- Own vehicle, California driver’s license and insurance.
- Clearance of TB test, fingerprints and any other mandatory state/federal requirements.
- Must show proof of Covid-19 fully vaccinated and boosted.
Schedule
- Full-time.
- Flexible schedule needed with ability to work evenings and weekends.
Benefits
- Starting at $70,000 - $84,000 annually. Actual salary is dependent on creditable experience above the minimum qualifications for the role
- Additional compensation provided upon passing bilingual language proficiency exam
- $4000 salary increase upon licensure
