Job Description:
Juab High School is seeking a dedicated and passionate Secondary English Teacher to join our team for the 2025-2026 school year. The ideal candidate will be committed to fostering a love of literature, writing, and critical thinking in students while maintaining a supportive and engaging classroom environment.
Responsibilities:
- Teach English Language Arts courses aligned with Utah State Core Standards
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that promote literacy, critical analysis, and effective communication
- Assess student learning and provide timely feedback to encourage growth and achievement
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance curriculum and instructional strategies
- Support and enforce school policies, procedures, and classroom management practices
Qualifications:
- Utah Secondary Teaching License with an endorsement in English Language Arts (or ability to obtain)
- Strong classroom management skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Prior experience in coaching or mentoring students in academic competitions (preferred)
- Experience in journalism, newspaper advising, or media production (preferred)
